Darren Kawasaki graduated from San Diego State University in the Television, Film and New Media department in 1999.   Although his emphasis was shooting, he also found interests in sound and editing. After working on many group film projects, it wasn't just the technical knowledge that sunk in, but the realization that working with great people can make all the difference.

After graduating, he continued to work within the Audio/Video department at SeaWorld San Diego, operating live sound and camera for the shows.  This not only developed technical skills with professional audio and video equipment, but this unique working environment brought true meaning to professionalism, leadership, teamwork and mentoring.  Soon after reaching Assistant Supervisor, Darren finally decided to expand his goals and pursue a career  in the freelance world of video production. 

It wasn't easy, but getting his foot in the door as a sound man and grip lead to a great opportunity to work for some of the best shooters and producers in San Diego.   It was here that he learned high-end lighting techniques, top of the line equipment operation and the expectations of a professional production...all from the best.
